Who needs it?
If you are a parent / grandparent of a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident and wish to visit your family in Canada under the multiple-entry Super Visa, then you need to obtain a private Canadian medical insurance policy in order to apply for the program.
What does it cover?
Super Visa medical insurance is designed to take care of the costs for the emergency medical care an insured person may need. Overall insurance benefits include hospitalization, ambulance transportation, paramedical services, prescription drugs, dental care and much more.
What are the insurance requirements?
Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) requires each Super Visa applicant to obtain a medical insurance that satisfies the following requirements:
– Is issued by a private Canadian insurance provider – Covers at least $100,000 worth of insurance benefits – Is no less than 1 year in duration – Is valid for multiple entries to Canada – Provides the coverage for hospitalization, emergency medical care and repatriation
