Are you an adventurous person who loves to try new things? Have you been dreaming of traveling to Canada and climbing the Rocky mountains or snowboarding in the Whistler backcountry?

Are you coming to Canada on the International Experience Canada Visa to work, travel and make some fun memories by trying out some more daring activities but worried because most insurance plans do not cover them?

While this is true and high risk sports are typically excluded in visitors to Canada insurance policies, we have just the right plan for you.

Sport Injuries Coverage:

One of our wonderful partners gives you the option to add extreme sports and activities coverage to their regular insurance for visitors and provide you with a peace of mind while you explore your inner daredevil.

TUGO’s ‘Sport and Activities’ add-on protects travelers who are ready to take their experiences to new heights but do not want to take a risk when it comes to their finances. The insurer agrees to cover reasonable expenses for a medical emergency that directly results from participating in the sports and activities listed in the policy wording.

What exactly does it cover?

While regular visitors to Canada plan will cover you for many sports and activities, such as skiing, snowboarding, hiking, parasailing, and even ziplining, their optional ‘Sports & Activities’ plan will also cover much more risky hobbies and escapades that are typically excluded in visitors and travel plans alike.

Among these are mountaineering, motorized racing competitions, skydiving and downhill mountain biking. If you are an avid backcountry skier or someone who loves to try martial arts or boxing, this option has got your back.

In addition, if you are coming to Canada to play with an organized sports team, for games such as ice hockey, rugby or football and are 21 years or older then this add-on will offer you protection in case of an injury, accident or an unexpected emergency medical condition while participating, competing or training on behalf of a registered team or league.

Coaches or referees do not need this extra coverage and can be covered with a regular visitors to Canada plan while training official sports teams for the games mentioned above.

Coverage exclusions:

The optional Sports & Activities Coverage can be acquired as an addition to a Visitors to Canada, as well as a Medical Emergency Travel plan. If a sport or activity is not listed in the benefits of the appropriate policy wording or under activities excluded, coverage for that sport or activity will be offered in the regular policy, without the need to purchase the add-on.

As always, this optional plan will also have some exclusions, such as rodeo and rock climbing, backcountry skiing and snowboarding and other extremely high risk activities.

Please refer to the policy wording for all the details and exclusions and feel free to reach out to us with any questions, concerns or if you just want to say hi. WE wish you an exciting and safe trip to Canada!
