Changing the Effective Date:
If you need to change the Effective Date (start date of your insurance coverage), you can request it from our Insurance Advisors before your coverage has begun at no additional charge.

However, all request for changing the effective date sent AFTER the start date of your coverage may incur an administration fee of $50.

Important: Please note that your policy must start within 1,095 days (3 years) immediately following the date you purchase your policy. If the policy does not start within the specified time frame, it will be cancelled and refunded.

Side-Trips Benefit:
Travelance will cover eligible medical emergency expenses that are incurred anywhere outside Canada, except for your country of origin, if you physically remain in Canada for more than 50% of the policy period before you submit a side-trip claim. The maximum duration of each covered side-trip is 45 days in a row and it must begin in Canada.
Temporary Return Home / Trip Break Benefit:
Starting September 2022, you can now temporarily suspend your Visitors insurance coverage under both Travelance Essential and Premier Plans when you decide to visit your home country during the coverage period and until you return to Canada.

Please note that no benefits are payable for any medical treatment received in your country of origin and you are only able to suspend your insurance prior to the expiry date of your policy.

In order to maintain eligibility, you must continue to meet policy requirements on each departure date from your home country (also applies to pre-existing medical conditions).

Travel to Canada Coverage:
Unlike many other Canadian insurance providers, with Travelance, your health insurance coverage will begin from the date of departure from your home-country on your way to Canada, if your travel time does not exceed 48 hours.
Waiting Period:
Please, note that no Waiting Period applies to those Travelance insurance policies, which begin on your Departure Date or, in other words, the day you travel to Canada.

– 24-hour waiting period for injury / 48-hour waiting period for sickness will only apply if your insurance Start Date commences after the Departure Date within 30 days.
– 48-hour waiting period for sickness applies, in case you are continuing medical insurance coverage from an existing policy with no gap in coverage.
– 7-day waiting period will apply for sickness, if your insurance Start Date is more than 30 days from your actual Departure Date.

Policy Wording:
Policy Wording is an official document issued by Travelance, which provides you with detailed descriptions of insurance benefits, coverage limitations/exclusions, claim and refund policies as well as other important information.

Please read this document carefully in order to clarify any confusions you might have in regards to medical emergency insurance that Travelance provides for people visiting Canada.

How do I apply for a 2 year coverage as an IEC Program Participant?
Travelance: Essential and Premier are among the best travel insurance plans for IEC/Working Holiday visa holders. Follow those simple steps in order to apply for their 2 year IEC travel insurance coverage. You can click on “How to Apply” button to watch our Video Tutorial to guide you through the application process.

In order to apply for their 2 year coverage – you need to apply for two 12-month policies right away. The second 12-month insurance policy should start the day after the first insurance policy expires.

1 Step
Click on “Buy Online” or “Buy Insurance” buttons to start your online application process. You will be then re-directed to the Travelance secure portal, where you will be filling out an insurance application form. You will need to provide the following information:

– Effective Date, which has to match your Arrival Date in Canada.
– The “Initial Trip Deposit Date” indicates the date you make a purchase of your insurance policy.
– Expiry Date for your insurance policy. Keep in mind that you need to be insured for the whole duration of you intended stay in Canada according to the International Experience Canada (IEC) requirements.
– Set the Trip Cost to $0 (zero), in case you do not wish to purchase a Trip Interruption insurance supplement.
– Select “Canada” as your “Primary Destination”.
– Indicate the Province of Destination or select “Non-Canadian Resident”.

Once you have filled out the required information, proceed with Step 2.

2 Step
On the next page with a “Step 2” you will see a list of IEC insurance quotes with different coverage amounts. Choose either Travelance: Essential Plan or Travelance: Premier Plan for Visitors to Canada and click on “Purchase”.
3 Step
Enter your Personal Information and choose the deductible on the next screen. Deductible/Excess is the amount of money that you need to pay first, before the insurance company takes care of the rest, in case of a claim. It is best to keep the deductible low, not exceeding $1,000.
4 Step
You will be asked to provide your Contact Information i.e. in Street Number/Name, City, Province, Postal Code and Daytime Phone in Canada. If you don’t have an address or phone number in Canada yet, you can use our company’s address until you get settled.
5 Step
The last step is Credit Card payment. Just enter your CC information in the fields provided and once your payment is processed, you will receive your IEC travel insurance policy by email in a few minutes.

Leah a representative for Arbetov Insurance & Wealth Management Inc is an exceptional person. We Thank you very much for your time and effort. I’ll be honest. You were the only person out of all the insurance agents/brokers that I dealt with, that did all that leg work for my wife, her mother(insured) and her family. You take pride and integrity into your work and it shows. We can’t thank you enough. My family has peace of mind going forward. Now our Mother/Sister/Grandmother now has her Visitors to Canada insurance with her Super Visa. We forward in working with you again in the future, now her visit with will be great! We thank you again!
